Cake for Jaxon!!

The other day my good friend Lisa asked me if I'd make a birthday cake for her (and Trevor's friend) Jaxon. It's going to be a "Avatar Airbender" cake. I am super excited to do something different!! I had to turn to my hubs Jason to help me with the 411 of Avatar, because I am clearly CLUELESS. I've come up with a pretty cool design.

The cake is for the party this Saturday, so I'll post progress pictures throughout the week. I'm going to be using some fun sugar work that can be made way in advance. I've already made and colored the fondant this morning. Trevor LOVES to sit at the table and use my left overs to roll out and play with (an occasionally eat!!!!) I am going to be using the above symbols of earth, fire, water and wind. FUN!!!

Cake Pops Anonymous

These were my inspiration!!

These are ones I actually made.....sorry the picture isn't so good, it was taken on a phone.

Yeah.....these are my new favorite obsessions to make. I call them "the new petit fours". On a stick, off a stick, with flowers, or no flowers, chocolate, red doesn't matter, they are scrumptious!! I am really looking forward to getting some orders in for these little pieces of Heaven. They make a SUPER little gift. Yummo!! I'll post more pictures here as I continue to make them!

Trevor's 3rd Birthday Party

What a lovely day!! Happy 3rd Birthday to my "little chicken". I really can't believe that he is so big. Where did these last 3 years go?? When I asked Trevor what kind of party he wanted to have there was no question in my mind that he was going to choose Buzz Lightyear. We invited his close friends and our family to a fun little park nearby and we had cupcakes and pizza. So fun.

Kelly's Graduation Cake

This cake was fun! When I think of Kelly I think bright, funky colors. Yet, I wanted it to look like a cake for an RN. I think it turned out pretty well. It tasted yummy :) Congrats Kelly on getting your RN!!

G & K Wedding Cake

My most recent work. This is a wedding cake for a dear couple......Karen and Gil Bremseth. When she first came to me to ask me to make their wedding cake, I doubted that I had the skills and ability because I had never made anything as large as what they wanted. After lots of sweat and work it made it there and I was really happy with how it turned out. It wasn't until the very moment I took this picture that I could take a deep breath. I can't wait to see more pictures that others took. I am looking forward to the next wedding cake!!

My Sweet Babies

Before I start on anything else, I have to post a picture of the two little men that make my life so sweet. My life revolves around them and I thank God for allowing me to be their mommy.

Excitement :)

I want to use this to help inspire myself and to inspire you to be creative and to do what you love. My loves in life are my family, my friends, and using my hands to made beautiful, and sometimes not so beautiful things. There's something very satisfying to me to make something lovely, from nothing......and to see it being created step by step. I live for seeing the look on someone's face when I hand them over something that I've made special for them, whether I am handing my 3 year old son a plateful of homemade buttermilk pancakes for breakfast, or seeing a Bride and Groom viewing their wedding cake that I had worked so hard on.

I will also be posting pictures and ideas that inspire me. Recipes that I want to try or have tried. Ideas of what I'd do different as well as projects that I've completed in the recent past. So, I hope you enjoy! Have a SWEET day :)
